Otsuka Techno installs electricity derived from renewable energy at all domestic facilities aimed to realize a low-carbon society -Zeroing CO2 emissions at all domestic facilities-

Otsuka Techno Corporation (Head Office: Naruto, Tokushima, Japan; President and Representative Director: Kanji Tsukii; "Otsuka Techno"), a subsidiary of Otsuka Pharmaceutical Factory, Inc. (Head Office: Naruto, Tokushima, Japan; President and Representative Director: Shinichi Ogasawara), announces that all electricity purchased from external sources will be switched to 100% renewable energy-derived energy at all 2 manufacturing facilities, Naruto Factory and Wajiki Factory, in Japan from April 1.

This is expected to result in zero CO2 emissions at all of Otsuka Techno's domestic manufacturing facilities*1 and a reduction of approximately 8,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year (equivalent to the annual emissions of approximately 2,900 households*2).

Based on its 2050 Environmental Vision, "Net Zero," the Otsuka Group aims to reduce the total environmental impact of its business activities to zero, in order to do its part in the transition to a low-carbon society. The Otsuka Group is actively working to reduce its CO2 emissions, having set a target of reducing CO2 emissions by 50% by 2028 compared to 2017.

With this goal, Otsuka Techno will continue to promote sustainable manufacturing as an environmentally friendly manufacturer to reduce the environmental load by promoting environmental efforts, such as the introduction of solar power generation systems, tree planting activities, and developing photobioreactors to fix CO2 through microalgae culture.

The Otsuka Group is united to aim to contribute to the realization of a low-carbon society and eventually a sustainable society through the application of new technologies and solutions.
