Biodiversity
Recognizing that biodiversity is natural capital indispensable to all business activities, and as a member of a society that benefits from nature, the Otsuka Group will take into account the impacts on biodiversity in its business activities and engage in conservation and restoration to help achieve a sustainable society that passes a rich natural environment on to the next generation.
Action Guidelines
- We will clarify the relationship between business activities across the entire value chain and biodiversity, and promote the conservation and sustainable use of biological resources.
- We will promote the development of products and technologies that take biodiversity into account and strive to reduce the impact on nature.
- We will respect international agreements on biodiversity and comply with treaties and laws; we will ensure the appropriate acquisition and use of genetic resources, and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from their use.
- We will communicate with a variety of stakeholders, including government agencies, local residents, and NGOs, and, in collaboration with local communities, work on the conservation and restoration of biodiversity.
- We will raise awareness of the relationship between business activities and biodiversity and strive to promote conservation activities.
